*sigh - Alright then....
Love for the Witness: A retrospective......
In my opinion, the best of the three Hanover action pictures, the shortest for starters...... But really, that's why because I think ultimately as great as your Paul Dudbridge's, your Matt Bull's, and your Dave Cherry's are, they can't carry audience interest and a twisting narrative for an hour plus. So, whilst Thieves' script is solid, the performances sadly bring it down and what action there is seems a little awkward and stilted.
Witness however, is chase after chase and certainly the most entertaining, one wonders from Rich's mumblings if they did a bit of an Indy and went here's the action scenes, we'll figure out what happens in between later. This also features the cracking one liner "I think you've got radiator trouble", arguably the best part of the film, the car park shootout which has moments of early genius in it, and also marks a not too bad performance from Alison Beary before she loses her ability to act come Den of Thieves. Though, maybe the fact she had more meatier stuff to do then highlighted her shortcomings in the first place, all she really does in this film is run around scared and annoy Rich it seems.
Let us not forget too, there is an explosion, and someone dives out of it, which is always a sure-fire win. In fact, the final sequence has lots of good moments (I've mentioned the one-liner), another is when Jamie Maguire's thug flees, or trys to, with Rich quickly reloading his gun behind.
Finally, the opening scene at the station has some very good shots in it, which I think Paul said he didn't realise at the time but we'll keep that quiet, so it's off to a pretty good start to - even with the dodgy exposition and denim shirt under a jacket mishaps that pop up once the villain appears. We'll also do our best to forget those montages....At least one of them had a purpose anyway, even if it was cheesy....
So, Love for the Witness, you might as well, it's all downhill from there....... ;D Remake! Remake!
And bring back our favourite anonymous thug/DCI - Jamie Maguire! But only if he sports THAT haircut.

Don't you just hate it when the entire plot of a movie rides on not only one but TWO massive coincidences??
